# Privacy and control

> What Context stores, who can read it, and how to remove it

## What is stored

Projects (name, first commit, a cleaned remote URL without credentials), notes, devices (a name you
can change, the platform and the CLI version) and Context keys (only a hash and a short preview).
Secrets are removed from notes on your machine and again on the server.

Transcripts are never uploaded. The hooks keep the list of changed files on your machine, and the
folder snapshot at session start is read locally and handed straight to your agent.

## Who can read a note

* **Your devices** share notes for the same project, so your laptop and desktop see the same
context. Each note shows which device wrote it.
* **Computer** sees only the notes its own agent wrote for that Computer project. It cannot see
anything from your devices, including imported sessions and memories, unless you share a project
with it: open the project under **Context** in the console and choose **Share with Computer**.
Sharing is off by default, can be
undone, and is read only: Computer cannot edit or delete a note your devices wrote.
* **Self registered apps** that signed in through OAuth reach Context only, never the rest of your
  account.

## Devices

Every `nemu login` registers the computer as a device. Revoking one in the console signs the Nemu CLI
on that computer out at once, for Context and for the rest of Nemu, and revokes the Context keys
bound to it. The notes it saved stay. Run `nemu login` there to use it again. To sign out every
computer, revoke the Nemu CLI under **Account, Applications**.

## Removing data

Delete a note, a project or everything from the console or the API. Export first with
`nemu context export` or the console. Deleting your account deletes all Context data with it.
