Context keeps short notes about each of your projects: decisions and why they were made, conventions, gotchas that already cost time, how to run and test things, and a handoff saying where the work stopped. Any coding agent you connect reads them when a session starts and saves new ones as it works, so the next session, on any machine and in any agent, starts where the last one ended. Your own agent does the thinking. Nemu stores and serves the notes and never calls a model for Context, so it works with a plain Claude or ChatGPT subscription and costs no credits.

How it fits together

  • A project is recognised by its first git commit, so the same repository shares notes on every machine you sign in from. A folder that is not a git repository is matched by its name.
  • A note has a name like decision/auth_tokens, a one line subject and one short paragraph. The part before the slash is a tag: handoff, decision, gotcha, convention, arch, api, schema, env, test, deploy, todo and a few more.
  • A handoff is a note named handoff/<branch> describing what was done, what is unfinished and the next step. It is the first thing an agent sees.
  • A device is each computer you sign in from. Every note records which device, Computer project or dashboard wrote it.

What it costs

Context is included on every plan, Free too, with these limits. It never spends credits. Notes written by Computer for its own projects do not count toward these limits.

Manage it

Open Context in the console to browse and edit notes, see your devices and revoke them, create Context keys, share a project with Computer, and export everything as JSON. See Privacy and control for what is stored and who can read it. Connect an agent, at the top of that page, lists the setup commands for every client, and the info icon next to Projects, Devices, Keys and Export explains each one with links to these pages.
